“Colours and Codes”

“I was a quiet, anxious, little gay guy who came out late and then went to law school and thought I wanted the heteronormative respectability politics style of being queer. That was until after I moved to Ottawa and discovered how important it was to live loudly and how important it was to be proud about being sexual beings. This piece was stitched over a long time to show as many facets of queer men as possible through colourful pinups and tropes as there are colours on the rainbow. Using almost only monochromatic colours was a struggle (they really dont make many reds or oranges) but it is a fun pride project.”
